What can I do to get my school's attention to nominate me for NCYL?

I really want to be part of NCYL but I have to get my school's attention. I want to show them that I'm really interested. I'm going to participate in everything I can that has to do with leadership. But my class has about 400 students. How can I, a single person, get attention for this wonderful award?
