Joining National Honors Society?

You can talk to your counselor or a teacher you really like about your interest, but don't frame it in terms of "how come X got invited instead of me?", and don't stress too much about it if you're still not offered a spot. My school didn't participate in it at all to avoid situations just like this, and not having a membership never hurt anyone's college chances.
