Can you lose marks in an English Literature GCSE exam because of scruffy handwriting?

My handwriting isn't messy or anything, but in the exam, because I will be pushed for time I know that my writing will be scruffier than usual (in my practise essays it has been), do you think I could lose marks because of it? It should still be readable...I hope :/
